You will learn how to split a cells data into separate cells of a spreadsheet automatically. Using the example of a date string that comes in the format YYYYMMDD without any obvious separators we look how we extract the year, month and day to separate cells. This technique will work with Google Spreadsheets or Microsoft Excel.
