Illustrator & Photoshop: Turn a Silhouette into a Typographical Layout
I love it when a great question from one of my students results in something beautiful in class! That is exactly what happened here. A little round trip from Illustrator to Photoshop along with some type magic and a silhouette of letters is created.

Online Training for Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign with Ben Halsall
Why Online?
Training online enables your to learn from your home or office and at a time that is convenient to you. With this format I am able to offer live training at the fraction of the cost of delivering courses at a training location or in-house.
So if you need to get started with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Final Cut Pro X or Apple Motion this is the most convenient way to get instructor-led training.
How it works?
- You will receive a link that allows you to sign into the course on your web-browser.
- You will get a live stream of the video as well as a chat room where you can ask the instructor questions.
- Once completed the recorded version of the class will be made available for you online. This means that you can review the material at your own pace.
What do I need?
You will need a high speed internet connection, web-browser and the version of the software that is being used for the class.
If you have two computer monitors, a second computer or tablet this normally works best as it means you can follow the video instruction on one screen whilst practicing techniques as we go.
Which Classes are Taught Online?
All of my classes are offered online as well as one-to-one tutoring/consultation sessions that can cover more specific topics or help you out with your own projects.
Why should I sign up for an instructor led class?
This depends on what you are looking for. There are lots of great online resources on sites like YouTube or Skillshare and often I will guide students to these resources to support specific needs. However if you need to get to grips with the software quickly, ask questions and get professional advice on the best workflow for your projects then instructor led training is a great option.
You will also get a recording of the class in full that you can review at a later stage.
Can it save me time?
Yes. Because classes are recorded we will be able to cover content in-depth. Rather than having to re-cover topics in class (although we will of course where necessary) we can move through topics smoothly so that you get a core understanding but are able to re-cover topics at your own pace later on.
Where are you based?
I am originally from the UK but am now based in Regina, Saskatchewan. As I am on Central Standard time this means that it I can normally schedule in teaching that fits with clients as far afield as London in the UK to Vancouver and Los Angeles. Just get in touch to arrange a time.
What do I need to do to sign up?
Just get check out the list of courses or use the form below if you have any specific questions.
