Adobe Acrobat DC Workshop (remotely) in Winnipeg #onlinelearning #remoteteaching #YQR #YWG

Today I taught an online class remotely from Regina, Saskatchewan for a client in Winnipeg, Manitoba who was learning Adobe Acrobat DC.

The day of training was recorded in its entirety which leaving the student with a complete record of the class, conversations answers to customised questions. The quote of the day was “I love this! I can learn in my own home, at my own computer with a coffee in my hand”.

I think that there are a lot more benefits to online instructor led training that could benefit your team.

The Positives of Learning at Your Own Workstation

There are some positive side effects of teaching online. Students working at their own workstations or laptops can ask questions, share their screens and which in turn enables them to ask questions that they would not otherwise be able to if they were in a training centre. There are new levels of authenticity to this and although the face-to-face time is a slightly different experience it does not seem to diminish the experience.

Bringing Remote Teams Together With Online Training

I foresee some great opportunities for delivering instructor led training for teams that work remotely together that can save on travel costs whilst bringing teams together to share questions, experiences and all in a format that will is recorded live & that will be available for review at a later date.

The recorded video means that topics can be covered in depth and at speed. Over the past few training sessions I’ve covered about 1.5 days worth of material in 1 day knowing that at any point in time any student attending can review and re-cover the material at their own leisure.

Day #01 of the 3 day video production & editing course I’m teaching in Regina is going great #YQR #SK

Today, Monday & Wednesday I am teaching a 3 day video production & editing workshop in Regina, Saskatchewan. So far the course is going great. The organisation I am working with is looking at ways to improve its internal and external communications and training and has chosen video as the medium.

Day One of this in house class is all about pre-production, lighting and camera work. We will be covering the essentials of:

  • Pre-production, Treatments & Storyboards
  • Production Lighting
  • Camera & Shot Framing
  • Production & Equipment Checklists
  • Setting Up an Interview

Then on Days Two & Three we will be pulling all of that footage into Adobe Premiere Pro CC and chopping together our establishing shots, interviews and b-roll whilst introducing the technical skills needed to edit a great video.

I am running a similar in house workshop that is scheduled in May 2016 in Yorkton but if you are interested in organising training for your organisation and would like to talk about how video can be used for your communications, training or marketing then get in touch. We can talk about the equipment, software and skills you will need to make everything work.

Video Production for Business in Regina, SK

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]

I am lucky enough to be working with some great local organisations, large and small businesses in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Last weekend I covered a Winter Carnival for a local community organisation, worked with a local realtor on some property web-promo videos and over the next couple of months I will be delivering some video production and video editing training for organisations in Regina & Yorkton.

It is an exciting time for businesses wanting to use video in for both their internal and external marketing as well as for the delivery of in house training and orientation.

Some of the great people I’m working with have already taken the leap into producing video content and have brought me on board to help them deliver professional quality sound, lighting and graphic content. A few years ago producing video in-house would have been impossible but with the right equipment, skills development and professional guidance producing video in house can produce great results.

The top image is from a recent video shoot with James Wruth of REMAX in Regina for some new property promotional videos. We shot on a green screen on location in Harbour Landing.
