Day 1 – Getting the Edit Flow Going!

What a great Day 1 of 2 teaching Final Cut Pro X here in Regina, Saskatchewan. My students today are the Mom and two siblings of one of Canada’s rising YouTube stars who are getting in on the editing act to help out with some epic channel growth over the past two years. It will be pretty hard not to persuade my kids that being a YouTube star is not a viable career path after teaching this class!

We’ve covered a tonne of stuff today including everything from the editing basics through to working with type and video animation, synching audio and video and managing audio levels.

Day 2 – Colour Correction, Effects and Much More!

Day 2 will start with some effects, colour correction and hopefully some tips for me on how to grow a bigger YT audience!

I began my career teaching at Innovation Place with Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom before moving to Ottawa, Canada in 2012. In 2014 I moved to Regina, Saskatchewan and have continued to teach video editing classes at the University of Regina as well as offering private training. I get asked about digitization a lot. Its not a service I offer but if you head over the Regina Public Library they have their very one Digitization Station where you can download your family movies and VHS videos and even film & negatives into a digital format.
