SUMMARY:An Introduction to WordPress – 2 Day Class in Regina #yqr #wordpress #training
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nThis introduction to WordPress will get you running with the internet’s number one open-source web-design\, content management and blogging platform. \nYou will learn everything you need to know to install and create your very own WordPress web–site. You will create posts\, upload images and setting up forms\, work with themes and learn how to customise your own sites design as well as implementing forms and the essential security features you need. \nWho is this course for? \nThis course is designed for those new to managing a WordPress web-site. If you need to learn how to create and edit an existing site or want to learn how to create a new WordPress site from scratch then this course is for you. We cover some of the technical aspects of how to install your very own web-server but the main focus is on using Wordpress as a site management tool. \n\n\nCourse Outline\n\nDay 1 – Getting Started\n\n\nWhat is WordPress?\nWordPress.com or Wordpress.org\nInstalling a Server\nInstalling WordPress\nSetting Up Your First WordPress Site\nCreating a Blog Post\nCreating Pages\nSetting Up Your Navigation & Menus\nWorking with Themes\n\nBasic Themes\nDIVI & Other Advanced Themes\n\n\nWorking with Images\n\nWhich Image Editor to Use?\nResizing Image for upload\nUseful Image Effects\n\n\n\nDay 2 – Plugins\, Customisation & Security\n\nPlugins for WordPress\nCreating Forms\nCustomising Themes\nIntroduction to HTML & CSS\nUpgrading a Theme\nSecurity & WordPress – Installing & Monitoring Security\nSocial Media & WordPress – Linking Twitter\, Facebook & other social media\nCreating a Bilingual site (optional)\n\nIf you have any questions about this or any of my other courses then please don’t hesitate to get in touch – design@benhalsall.com . \n\n\n\nCustomisation\nHaving recently trained a number of clients I have found that creating a custom WordPress class based often works better than a one-size fits all approach. Working like this has meant that I can train small teams on the ins and outs of how to manage\, update and develop their sites. \nSharing a private video after each class has meant that clients have an easy to refer to how-to for their own individual installation of WordPress which can vary greatly.
